Minneapolis Wedding Photographer | Gunflint Lodge Wedding
I don't generally do much writing on my blog. Mostly because I’m pretty sure you are here for the pictures instead of the words. But this blog post had to come with the words.
Olivia booked me for their wedding without ever meeting me in person. This isn’t something I normally do. I normally like to meet for coffee or at least Skype to make sure it’s a good fit photography-wise and personality-wise. But everything Olivia said she wanted in photography, is exactly what I do. And if you know me at all, you know I’m most happy outside and we have a love affair with camping and hiking and the water.
Jim is SUPER into being outdoors, so Olivia planned their wedding around what they love, family and the outdoors. She wanted Jim to love every part of their wedding as much as she knew she would. She wanted portraits but she wanted everything to feel natural and comfortable and candid. This is exactly what I’m about - telling YOUR personal story. Once we arrived at The Gunflint Lodge, I worked with their super accommodating staff to have one of them drive us up one of their dog sledding trails so we could hike around the woods a bit for photos. Jim and Olivia were both so happy to be doing what they loved instead of standing around posing and that is visible on their faces in every picture.
I love these intimate weddings because they’re so personal and special. They’re not about anything else other than their love, those they love, being where they love, and doing what they love. Big weddings are so beautiful and so amazing but they’re not for everyone. If you’re one of those that wants or needs to scale back and do something smaller or more intimate for your wedding, reach out to me. I’d love to work with you.
